Author Guidelines

A. General Requirements

The minimum standard requirements of Biota must be

  1. Written in Indonesia or English.
  2. The length of submitted paper is at least 6 pages and no more than 20 pages. Editors will evaluate if the papers are needing more pages than 12 pages.
  3. Recommended to use of a tool such as Mendeley for reference management and formatting, and choose APA style
  4. Make sure that your paper is prepared using the Biota paper template

B. Structure of The Manuscript

The manuscript must be prepared and suggested present follow the structure:

  1. Title. The title of paper is max 15 words, without Acronym or abbreviation
  2. Abstract. The Abstract has maksimum 150-200 WORDSNo citation; State in the abstract a primary objectiveresearch designmethodologymain outcomes and results, and the conclusions.
  3. Section structure. Authors are suggested to present their articles in the section structure: Introduction - Method - Results and Discussion – Conclusion
  4. References. Expect a minimum of 20 references primarily with minimum 60% to journal papers.

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  4. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.

Authors who publish with BIOTA agree to the following terms:

Authors retain copyright and grant the BIOTA right of first publication with the work simultaneously licensed under a Lisensi Creative Commons Atribusi-NonKomersial-BerbagiSerupa 4.0 Internasional that allows others to share (copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format) and adapt (remix, transform, and build upon the material) the work for any purpose, but not use the material for commercial purposes.

Authors are able to enter into separate, additional contractual arrangements for the non-exclusive distribution of the journal's published version of the work (e.g., post it to an institutional repository or publish it in a book), with an acknowledgement of its initial publication in BIOTA.
