Pembangunan Sistem Informasi Akademik Berbasis Website (Studi Kasus: Sekolah Menengah Pertama Negeri 8 Balikpapan)

In the digitalization era, technological advancements have transformed societal behavior, including in the education sector. The use of website-based technology for academic information systems is crucial to provide real-time access to academic information for students, teachers, and parents. This research aims to design and implement a website-based academic information system at SMPN 8 Balikpapan. The system is designed to help teachers manage student grades and attendance while enabling parents to monitor their children's academic progress. The research methodology includes needs analysis, system design, implementation, and testing. The results indicate that the website-based academic information system was successfully implemented according to the requirements. This system improves transparency, efficiency, and accessibility of academic information for users. Academic data can be accessed in realtime by teachers, students, and parents, allowing for better and more integrated management.
Di era digitalisasi, perkembangan teknologi telah mengubah perilaku masyarakat, termasuk dalam dunia pendidikan. Penggunaan teknologi berbasis web dalam sistem informasi akademik sangat diperlukan untuk memudahkan akses informasi akademik secara real-time oleh siswa, guru, dan orang tua. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang dan mengimplementasikan sistem informasi akademik berbasis web di SMPN 8 Balikpapan. Sistem ini dirancang untuk membantu guru dalam mengelola nilai dan presensi siswa, serta memudahkan orang tua dalam memantau perkembangan akademik anak-anak mereka. Metode penelitian meliputi analisis kebutuhan, perancangan, implementasi, dan pengujian sistem. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa sistem informasi akademik berbasis web berhasil diimplementasikan sesuai kebutuhan. Sistem ini meningkatkan transparansi, efisiensi, dan aksesibilitas informasi akademik bagi para pengguna. Informasi akademik dapat diakses secara real-time oleh guru, siswa, dan orang tua, sehingga memungkinkan manajemen yang lebih baik dan terintegrasi.
