	<dc:description xml:lang="en-US">Media biases may caused by various factors. One of them is called political parallelism. Political parallelism weakens the roles of media in democratic process by becoming overly one-sided leading to low quality of news news quality. The aim of this article is to investigate the presence and effect of media political parallelism on election news during the 2014 legislative and presidential elections in Indonesia, using content analysis on news items from four print media outlets. The findings show that media with certain political parallelism display high favorability in coverage of its own affiliations.</dc:description>

	<dc:description xml:lang="en-US">This study explores the phenomenon of Vlogger as a new business in the digital media industry in Indonesia. Vlogger refer to social media users who regularly upload a variety of video content with various themes. We used case study to describe and analyze Youtube’s significant role in managing Vlogger communities, and also design support systems to make the communities growth and sustainable. We also explore Vlogger role as Online Influencer. This study is expected to be one of the references related to Vlogger phenomenon in the context of digital media studies in Indonesia.</dc:description>

These tendencies are examined through: (1) analysis of association of age and income level with the pattern of media consumption; (2) analysis of association of age and income level with types of media that is perceived as the most trustworthy. Using systematic random sampling, this study examines 400 households in Semarang, Central Java, with level of confidence of 95%. </dc:description>

A total of 179 respondents accounting students at one private university in Yogyakarta. Data had collected by questionnaire. Furthermore, the data had analyzed qualitatively by using descriptive statistics and item analysis. The implications are useful for digital dependent to be wise in using social media and aware of the positive and negative impacts. In addition, for companies and providers useful to analyze for the utilization of economic and social potential of social media.  </dc:description>

Sumber data penelitianini adalah ibu rumah tangga, mentor, penanggung jawab grup, dan referensi berbasiskan teoriconstructivist learning theories. Hasilnya, model komunikasi ini dapat meningkatkan keterampilanberbahasa inggris ibu rumah tangga dalam memahami grammar dasar, mendengarkan lagu,membaca cerita, menonton film dan talk show; melakukan percakapan, mengoperasikan handphonedan komputer; dan meningkatkan skor TOEFL. Kesimpulannya, Sekolah Inggris membantu Iburumah tangga meningkatkan keterampilan berbahasa Inggris.</dc:description>

Bencana di daerah wisata akan memengaruhi kondisi pariwisata di suatu daerah sepertierupsi Gunung Agung di Bali. Di sisi lain, Gunung Agung menjadi sumber pendapatan utamakawasan tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penggunaan media sosial Twitterpada bencana erupsi Gunung Agung. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah analisis isi melaluipengumpulan tweet dengan perangkat lunak kualitatif NVivo. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwaterdapat persamaan informasi yang disebarkan oleh pengguna, juga terdapat perbedaan mengenaijenis informasi yang berasal dari luar lokasi bencana dan di lokasi bencana.</dc:description>

	<dc:description xml:lang="en-US">BPPTKG Yogyakarta bertugas memberikan informasi mengenai aktivitas Merapi.Keterbukaan informasi menjadi aspek dalam keberhasilan mitigasi bencana erupsi Merapi.Penelitian ini menggunakan contigency theory dan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Peneliti melihatproduksi informasi BPPTKG berfokus di media center. Media center memiliki tiga divisi, yaituclearing house, content production, dan buzzer. Tugas mereka adalah mengonstruksi informasiuntuk masyarakat agar informasi yang disebarkan mudah dipahami. Hasil penelitian ini jugamelihat bahwa BPPTKG telah menjadi institusi kebencanaan yang memiliki keterbukaan informasi.Namun demikian, hal tersebut kurang didukung dengan adanya kebijakan internal mengenaiketerbukaan informasi terkait produksi konten media sosial.</dc:description>

	<dc:description xml:lang="en-US">Social media influencer bertujuan mendorong masyarakat untuk mengubah perilakumereka melalui penanaman pesan-pesan tertentu, sebagaimana dilakukan oleh akun Instagram@gita_vbpr. Akun tersebut berusaha memersuasi khalayak media sosial untuk memperhatikanbentuk tubuh ideal, kesehatan, dan kepercayaan diri. Kondisi tersebut memunculkan pertanyaanutama tentang bagaimana mekanisme pembentukan persepsi dalam otak khalayak terkait informasiyang diterima dari akun tersebut. Metode analisis isi dan kajian literatur digunakan untukmenggungkapkan mekanisme dalam otak ketika individu memersepsikan pesan yang disampaikanoleh social media influencer dan menunjukkan kaitan antara proses fisiologis dalam otak manusiadengan perilaku sosial terkait informasi dari social media influencer.</dc:description>

	<dc:description xml:lang="en-US">Salah satu fasilitas yang disediakan oleh Google yang dapat digunakan sebagai alat analisis data adalah Google Trends. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis data yang direkam oleh Google Trends pada tahun 2016 dan 2017 perihal konflik sosial Aksi Bela Islam yang terjadi di ruang publik virtual. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan netnografi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa fitur kata kunci yang disediakan oleh Google Trends menjadi alat hegemoni media untuk mengarahkan pencari berita pada informasi yang seragam, sehingga mengakibatkan terjadinya polarisasi massa dalam menyikapi fenomena Aksi Bela Islam. Terlebih lagi, kebijakan yang dikeluarkan pemerintahj ustru menguatkan polarisasi.</dc:description>

Some of thoseaccounts are managed by Indonesian, such as @indonesiafeminis, @perempuanbergerak, @womensmarchjkt, @perempuanberkisah.id, and @lawanpatriarki. They disseminate informationand knowledge on feminism, women empowerment, and gender equality among Indonesian youth.The research aims to analyze how the movements occur through Instagram and portrayals ofperspective on women empowerment. This research is conducted with the virtual ethnographymethod. This study finds that the movement of women’s activism accounts in social media platformsis deconstructed towards the common view of women empowerment and gender equality.</dc:description>

	<dc:description xml:lang="en-US">Cybermisogyny is hateful behavior against women on social media. This study aims tofind the forms of cybermisogyny that occur on @viavallen’s Instagram. Descriptive qualitative usedwithin the framework of Teun A. van Dijk’s Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) which focuses on textanalysis, social cognition, and social context. This research uses gendertrolling theory from Karla Mantilla. The results showed: (1) cybermisogyny that occurred on @viavallen’s Instagram was dominated by online abuse and sexual harassment; (2) message producers tend to be permissiveto harassment behaviors; (3) the dimensions of power and access are the main factors in theoccurrence of cybermisogyny.</dc:description>

	<dc:description xml:lang="en-US">Movie trailers are powerful marketing tool to influence audiences. Joker is the most famous villain character in the DC world. Data shows that the Joker movie trailer uploaded by movie-themed verified YouTube accounts has been watched more than 71 million times in four months. The trailer is discussed through a semiotic perspective to analyze discursive symbols in a film trailer. The result shows that there are three main connotative meanings for Joker: (1) a good person who loves his mother, (2) the formation of his identity, and (3) the transformation from a good person to a criminal.</dc:description>

	<dc:description xml:lang="en-US">Tulisan ini menjelaskan komunikasi terdakwa di ruang pengadilan melalui pendekatan dramaturgi. Penelitian dilakukan dengan wawancara dan observasi partisipatoris pada persidangan di Pengadilan Negeri Jakarta Pusat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ruang sidang merupakan ruang komunikasi verbal dan nonverbal terdakwa untuk memperoleh keputusan hukuman yang lebih ringan. Komunikasi verbal dan nonverbal digunakan terdakwa sebagai strategi memperoleh simpati penegak hukum agar mendapatkan putusan hakim yang ringan. Bagi penegak hukum, komunikasi terdakwa merupakan sumber informasi dan pertimbangan untuk memutuskan hasil sidang.</dc:description>

	<dc:description xml:lang="en-US">This article discusses the role of online media in natural resource conflicts in Riau during 2016-2018. The conflict has always been at national highest position, even though there are 323 online media that should be able to accelerate conflict resolution. The research is conducted using qualitative content analysis with data from the annual report on conflict news in 2016-2018, and analyzed based on news content and media trends. The findings show that online media plays a function of conflict diminisher for economic interests. In the process, there are parties involved, namely investors, local communities, media, and the government.</dc:description>

Persoalan di lapangan memperlihatkan bahwa kualitas seni peran kurang maksimal karena buruknya relasi antarpribadi. Pendekatan komunikasi dalam menciptakan seni peran yang baik diperlukan. Ketepatan komunikasi dapat diukur melalui relasi antarpribadi sutradara dan aktor. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan studi kasus. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi dan wawancara dengan melibatkan sutradara dan aktor. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa budaya relasi antarpribadi sutradara dan aktor di dalam Teater Koma menggunakan prinsip kekeluargaan dengan menekankan pada aspek kesetaraan dan sikap suportif.</dc:description>

	<dc:description xml:lang="en-US">Artikel ini mendikusikan tentang representasi Islam dalam film Hollywood berjudul JavaHeat yang diproduksi di Indonesia. Penelitian ini menggunakan analisis semiotika Roland Barthesmelalui tiga tahap pemaknaan: denotatif, konotatif, dan mitos. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwarepresentasi Islam dengan cita rasa Hollywood terbagi menjadi dua. Pertama, Islam Arab yangdirepresentasikan sebagai umat penuh kekerasan, hipokrit, dan lekat dengan terorisme. Kedua,Islam bergaya Amerika yang direpresentasikan sebagai Islam pluralis dan bersedia melakukannegosiasi dengan Amerika Serikat.</dc:description>

	<dc:description xml:lang="en-US">Tagar #indonesiaterserah adalah gelembung suara minoritas pekerja kesehatan di Indonesia jelang Idul Fitri 2020. Penelitian tradisi naratif dengan metode kualitatif ini mengumpulkan percakapan di Twitter selama 15 hari dari tanggal 10–25 Mei 2020. Sejumlah 8.144 (65 persen) dari 12.553 akun bernarasi negatif. Pergerakan sentimen negatif merupakan dampak pemberitaan media siber di Indonesia dengan 200 juta keterlibatan akun pengguna. Narasi dibedah dengan teori spiral keheningan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan resonansi sosial opini minoritas menemukan bentuk barunya dalam media sosial. Opini yang bergerak pada spiral menjadi isu utama yang bertahan lebih dari 10 hari jelang perayaan Idul Fitri.</dc:description>

	<dc:description xml:lang="en-US">Computer-mediated communication on distance learning brings various effects on thelecturers and the higher-education students. Distance learning has been performed on campusesin Indonesia since the pandemic of Covid-19. This research aims to describe the students’deception via computer-mediated communication. Interpersonal deception and computer-mediated communication theories are chosen to analyze this deception phenomenon. Data were collected through questionnaires and distributed to students in Jakarta as the red zone of the pandemic ofCovid-19. The findings show the students tended to manipulate information before they deliver it tothe audience and to hide their identity or presence during the virtual classroom.</dc:description>

	<dc:description xml:lang="en-US">Staf pengajar organisasi pendidikan tinggi berpotensi mengalami stres dan kelelahan bekerja yang berdampak buruk terhadap kesehatan. Idealnya, organisasi pendidikan tinggi melakukan promosi kesehatan di tempat kerja melalui fungsi public relations. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode studi kasus. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan beban kerja yang cukup tinggi dan ambiguitas peran dapat memicu stres dan kelelahan pada staf pengajar. Staf public relations belum optimal dalam menjalankan fungsi promosi kesehatan di tempat kerja. Riset ini merekomendasikan model promosi kesehatan yang mencakup identifikasi permasalahan melalui riset, perencanaan, implementasi, dan evaluasi.</dc:description>

	<dc:description xml:lang="en-US">Artikel ini membahas praktik model social media pandemic communication (SMPC) pada pesan seputar pandemi Covid-19 di akun Twitter dan Instagram lembaga pemerintah pada semester awal pandemi Covid-19. Penelitian ini menggunakan analisis konten media sosial Instagram dan Twitter milik BNPB dan Kementerian Kesehatan. Hasil studi menunjukkan bahwa sepanjang semester pertama fase pandemi, mayoritas pesan masih berfokus pada informasi yang mempersiapkan masyarakat secara psikologis alih-alih memberikan instruksi cara menghadapi pandemi Covid-19. Model SMPC tidak sepenuhnya dipraktikkan karena pemerintah belum mengelola jenis informasi sesuai tahapan pandemi.</dc:description>

Hal tersebut dapat membuat media sosial menjadi saluran partisipasi guna mencari dukungan publik dalam pelembagaan gerakan masyarakat sipil. Artikel ini menganalisis percakapan warganet di Twitter dengan tagar #ReformasiDikorupsi berbasis data analisis Drone Emprit Academic. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media sosial dapat digunakan sebagai saluran gerakan masyarakat sipil dalam membangun advokasi, pemberdayaan, dan kritik sosial terhadap berbagai kebijakan publik, termasuk memperkuat pelembagaan demokrasi di Indonesia.</dc:description>

	<dc:description xml:lang="en-US">This study aims to determine the practices of child commodification in a South Korean variety show: The Return of Superman (TROS). This study uses qualitative research methods through Van Dijk's critical discourse analysis (CDA). The results show that there was a commodification of children hidden behind the title of the program; this program is a product of popular culture with capitalist practices as a background: profit-oriented and market-regulated; and variety show interpreted more negatively because it has exploited the commodification practices and abuse of children's rights in the interest of the media.</dc:description>

	<dc:description xml:lang="en-US">The central and local governments must continue synergizing to reduce the spread of Covid-19. Policies that the Indonesian government implemented are social distancing and self-quarantine. The #dirumahaja movement emerged on various social media platforms, including Twitter. This paper analyzes the use of Twiter as a platform for #dirumahaja movement, to understands people’s attitude in dealing with Covid-19. The findings show that becomes a public space. Through hashtags on Twitter, the public communicate and support government policies related to social distancing and self-quarantine.</dc:description>

	<dc:description xml:lang="en-US">Religious differences often trigger conflict in a multicultural society. Palembang, with its diverse community characteristics, is claimed as zero conflict area. This study aims to see intercultural sensitivity among religious people in Palembang. This qualitative research uses a case study approach with the theory of the Developmental Model of Intercultural Sensitivity. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with religious leaders. The results shows that each religious group tries to emphasize ethnorelativism through tolerance, mutual cooperation in building houses of worship, friendship relations with different adherents. However, at some levels, ethnic prejudices and stereotypes against different religious people still emerge.</dc:description>

	<dc:description xml:lang="en-US">Lebih dari 70% mahasiswa terlibat dalam aktivitas mengakses layar lain di tengah menyelesaikan tugas akademiknya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mencari tahu sesuatu yang mungkin memengaruhi perilaku multitasking media akademik dan binge-watching pada mahasiswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan uji korelasi dan uji regresi hierarki. Responden yang terlibat sebanyak 175 orang. Hasil penelitian terbagi ke dalam tiga variabel dependen, yaitu frekuensi multitasking media akademik, frekuensi binge-watching, dan durasi binge-watching. Ditemukan bahwa kenikmatan (enjoyment) menjadi faktor yang paling berpengaruh terhadap seluruh variabel dependen</dc:description>

	<dc:description xml:lang="en-US">De Fleur's communication model inserts the mass media device, gives the possibility to two-way feedback, and stated that noise might occur at any stage. In contrast, the flowthing model introduced by Al-Fedaghi describes the information flow. This research adapts both concepts to produce cultural inheritance communication models. Minangkabau was chosen because of its unique matrilineal cultural pattern, where customary leaders take part in the wider family communication besides the role of the father and the mother. All concepts inculcate the soul of leadership, entrepreneurial spirit, and high social spirit. This answers the stereotype of Minangkabau people as hard-working entrepreneurs.</dc:description>

	<dc:description xml:lang="en-US">This study elaborates communication privacy management (CPM) theory in describing the privacy management of Covid-19 patients. This research uses  case study method.  The results show that informants who are worried about isolation and social stigma consider their status as a Covid-19 patient as personal information. Meanwhile, those who has the intention to participate in stopping the spread of Covid-19 consider their status as public information, so disclosure is necessary. Social media is considered as an appropriate means of disclosure because the patients get virtual support, minimal boundary turbulence, and the presence of healthy discussions about Covid-19 within it.</dc:description>

	<dc:description xml:lang="en-US">This study attempts to assess the level of public trust in the Surabaya City Government and Banyuwangi Regency Government's handling of Covid-19. Utilizing a survey technique that was descriptively analyzed. Using the quota sampling method, up to 400 samples from each city/region's generation Y and Z were collected. According to the findings, there is a high level of trust in all dimensions of the Banyuwangi Regency Government. Medium levels of trust were accorded to the Surabaya City Government in terms of responsiveness and reliability, but high levels of trust were accorded in terms of integrity, transparency, and fairness.</dc:description>

Artikel ini bertujuan menjelaskan realitas strategi komunikasi nilai-nilai organisasi dalam membangun landasan kemitraan antara Yayasan Tahija dengan Pusat Kedokteran Tropis UGM pada EDP Yogyakarta. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode studi kasus. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa strategi komunikasi nilai-nilai organisasi Yayasan Tahija kepada mitra berupa visualisasi kehadiran dan adopsi budaya lokal Yogyakarta sebagai cara membangun kesamaan atau mengidentifikasi mitra kolaborasi. Strategi ini didukung oleh manajemen komunikasi dengan menggunakan values guardian dan values champion sebagai komunikator dan workshop quality improvement serta values improvement sebagai media komunikasi</dc:description>

Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat tiga peran dari komunikasi sains pada saat pandemi Covid-19, yakni mendiseminasikan ilmu pengetahuan melalui cara populer, memperkuat jaringan komunikasi dan informasi ilmiah, dan membantu pemeriksaan fakta. Praktik komunikasi sains dilakukan melalui kolaborasi antara ilmuwan, masyarakat awam, pemerintah, dan industri kreatif.</dc:description>

	<dc:description xml:lang="en-US">Sering kali anak menjadi korban kekerasan kaum dominan di dalam masyarakat. Beranjak dari realitas sosial di lapangan, novel yang merepresentasikan kekerasan anak dapat menjadi konsumsi publik. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif, perspektif kritis dengan analisis Norman Fairclough yang bertujuan mendeskripsikan representasi pelanggaran HAM terhadap Anak di NTT dalam novel Orang-Orang Oetimu. Hasil penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa representasi kekerasan di dalam novel menunjukkan keberpihakan penulis terhadap korban. Hal itu dibuktikan dari diksi dan tata bahasa di dalam teks novel. Melalui representasi tersebut, terlihat bahwa novel dapat digunakan sebagai media alternatif perlawanan menentang dominasi kekuasaan.

	<dc:description xml:lang="en-US">Riset ini memetakan kondisi organisasi jurnalis di Yogyakarta (2015-2020) dan mengidentifikasi kontribusinya pada pengembangan profesionalisme anggota dan kebebasan pers. Riset ini menggunakan metode kualitatif. Data terkumpul melalui wawancara semi-terstruktur, observasi, dan pengumpulan dokumen. Riset ini menemukan ‘dua jalan berbeda’ antara PWI DIY dan AJI Yogyakarta dalam memperkuat kompetensi jurnalis dan advokasi kebebasan pers: akomodatif dan diametral. Faktor sejarah pendirian, karakter anggota dan mitra kolaborasi memengaruhi pola kerja dan otonomi kedua organisasi: PWI DIY dekat dengan lembaga pemerintah dan badan komersial, sedangkan AJI Yogyakarta dengan organisasi nirlaba dan lembaga donor internasional.</dc:description>

Berbagai faktor memengaruhi keberhasilan program. Penelitian bertujuan menghasilkan analisis faktor personal, dukungan sarana produksi pertanian, dan pola komunikasi penyuluh pendamping dan sesama petani berpengaruh terhadap ketahanan pangan petani. Penelitian didesain sebagai penelitian kuantitatif dengan metode survei cross-sectional. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa faktor personal petani, dukungan sarana produksi pertanian, dan pola komunikasi berpengaruh nyata dan positif terhadap ketahanan pangan petani.</dc:description>

	<dc:description xml:lang="en-US">Kajian ini berfokus pada manajemen komunikasi pelaku praktik reklamasi ilegal di pesisir Surabaya. Praktik ini disebut “nggacar” dalam bahasa lokal dan lahan reklamasinya disebut tanah “gacaran”. Penelitian ini bertujuan memahami manajemen komunikasi pelaku yang memungkinkan praktik ini dilakukan sampai sekarang sebagai hal normal. Peneliti menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode fenomenologi. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa pelaku reklamasi memaknai reklamasi sebagai praktik sah sekaligus menjadi hak sejarah warga asli Kenjeran. Warga Kenjeran menikmati potensi ekonomi tanah leluhur dan menjadikannya sebagai instrumen protes terhadap reklamasi yang dilakukan pengembang perumahan besar.</dc:description>

	<dc:description xml:lang="en-US">The background of this research is the use of social media by transgenders in the Garut Regency, although the transgender issue is contradictory to Indonesian values. This qualitative research uses rational choice theory to analyze social media usage as an identity for transgenders in the Garut Regency. The data are collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and literature study. The results show that transgenders use social media as an associative interaction. It shows their identity by 'behaving gender' and expressing the 'sense of we' as Sundanese women.</dc:description>

	<dc:title xml:lang="en-US">Representasi Asia Tenggara dalam Berita tentang Covid-19 di Media Barat</dc:title>

	<dc:description xml:lang="en-US">This study aims to explore how the Western media determine news sources, frames, and news tone for events related to Covid-19 in Southeast Asia. Using the comparative content analysis, the findings show that news is presented in a negative tone while most news is presented frameless (65.8%), while news that uses frames includes a frame of responsibility (14.6%) and human interest (12.2%). Statistic test shows that there is no significant difference between Western media in the use of news sources, framing, and tone of the news.

One of the important aspects is owing to both written and spoken communication, for example, in email and direct conversations. This study examines sample communication activitie of three Indonesian doctoral students and their supervisors to unfold the construction of shared values between them. An appraisal system analyses the linguistic mechanism of engagement, attitude, and graduation systems through which power and relationship are built between first-year doctoral students and their supervisors.</dc:description>

	<dc:description xml:lang="en-US">Broadcast radio faces challenges in maintaining its existence, particularly in the internet era. Audiences now have more media access choices, leading to decreased loyalty to a single medium. This research explores the strategy of expanding the reach of broadcast radio through cross-media initiatives in the new internet-based medium. It also examines the process of soundwork remediation within the internet medium, focusing on Suara Surabaya FM 100 and PRFM radio. The new context of remediation enables the establishment of social connections between the audience and radio, as well as connectivity among the audience mediated by radio across different outlets.</dc:description>

	<dc:description xml:lang="en-US">The sexual assault committed by a Sriwijaya University (Unsri) lecturer on a student resulted in coercion. The lecturer then admitted his guilt to the student. The victim published her experience on the Twitter account @unsrifess until it received mainstream media attention. This research deconstructs the framing of Kompas.com and Detik.com about sexual violence in Unsri. Detik.com presents the victim as someone who has truly faced tragedy and injustice. On the other hand, Kompas.com often depicts the victim as a 'problematic' figure and as if the media is 'punishing' him through their reporting.</dc:description>

	<dc:description xml:lang="en-US">Gender power imbalances in patriarchal society contribute to rising violence against women, as evident in Komnas Perempuan's annual surge in reported sexual violence cases. This research uses Stuart Hall's encoding-decoding model to analyze how @komnasperempuan's Instagram followers perceive the campaign for Ratification of the Draft Law on the Elimination of Sexual Violence (RUU PKS). Interviews with twelve informants reveal varied interpretations. Two prevalent positions emerge: one strongly supporting RUU PKS ratification and another cautiously endorsing the campaign while doubting the Indonesian House of Representatives' commitment to passing it. Notably, none of the informants oppose the campaign</dc:description>

Namun, humor sexist masih berkembang, salah satunya melalui tayangan komedi Lapor Pak!. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pemaknaan dan penerimaan penonton terhadap humor sexist dalam tayangan tersebut dengan menggunakan analisis resepsi David Morley. Hasilnya, mayoritas informan laki-laki menduduki posisi dominan sedangkan mayoritas informan perempuan berada pada posisi negosiasi dan oposisi. Penelitian ini juga menemukan faktor yang menyebabkan informan memaknai humor sexist secara berbeda, yaitu jenis kelamin, tingkat pendidikan, dan pengalaman.</dc:description>

	<dc:description xml:lang="en-US">Hajime Isayama’s Shingeki no Kyojin tells the disruption on Paradis Island’s stability as Titans ambush. This article found the Paradis Island is the perfect representation of Jean Baudrillard’s simulacra society which is trapped in a chaos of reality and simulations in hyperreality. Through the Barthes’s semiotic model, this article finds that Paradis Island’s a perfect hyperreal site that traps its inhabitants in simulacra and blurs anything beyond the wall. Repression and propaganda complicate people’s understanding on politics. In reflection to current state, media are trapping society inside walls of their preferences to blur the reality behind or beyond the wall.</dc:description>

	<dc:description xml:lang="en-US">Social media can currently be used to promote products with beauty vloggers as skincare brand ambassadors. This study aims to analyze and explain the effect of e-WOM, brand image, e-commerce, and beauty vloggers on consumer purchasing decisions for Scarlett Whitening products. This research method uses explanative quantitative. Simple random sampling was applied to collect data from 210 Scarlett Whitening user respondents in East Java through an online questionnaire. The results showed that the e-WOM, brand image, e-commerce, and beauty vlogger variables simultaneously had a significant effect on consumer purchasing decisions for Scarlett Whitening products.</dc:description>

	<dc:description xml:lang="en-US">The #MeToo hashtag grew into digital activism among the Twitter users. This activity was becoming the networking space which increased the communication power and collaboration. This research using counter public and the fifth estate as a frame for thinking with a method of social media analyses and critical discourse based on corpus. The object of this research is 631,897 tweets of #MeToo from October 15, 2017 until March 31, 2020. The result shows there is no counter public through this hashtag for the Indonesian context. Nevertheless, users applied the social control for legitimacy of laws and sexual abuse legal cases.</dc:description>

	<dc:description xml:lang="en-US">Drawing from the notion of smartphones as polymedia, this study seeks to investigate how working mothers use smartphones to navigate multiple roles during the COVID-19 pandemic. Smartphones become an essential device for working mothers as it allows them to manage different relationships and tasks that are imperative to their various roles. This study employs a phenomenology approach, using interviews with eight working mothers in six cities in Indonesia. This study brings into light three relational dynamics of smartphones as polymedia that helped them navigate the change of the COVID-19 pandemic, namely entertainment, empowerment, and support.</dc:description>

	<dc:description xml:lang="en-US">The GeNose C19 has rised a discussion on Twitter. This study seeks to analyze and categorize topics and actors who have a significant role in spreading knowledge on the usage of GeNose C19 on Twitter between March 1st, 2020, and December 20th, 2021. The findings of this study include various topic, namely pertaining to its mechanisms and operations, superiority, marketing approval, user experience, and product comparison. Actors who played a significant role in spreading knowledge were players from the media, colleges, and government. In addition, state-owned companies play an important part in distributing technical knowledge to the public.</dc:description>

	<dc:description xml:lang="en-US">Pelaksanaan siaran digital membawa konsekuensi seperti adopsi sistem multipleksing (mux). Di Indonesia, penyedia mux dipilih lewat tender kecuali untuk TVRI yang sudah pasti mendapat jatah. Penelitian studi kasus ini mengkaji sistem sewa mux di TVRI Yogyakarta menggunakan perspektif ekonomi politik untuk menguji adakah komersialisasi dijalankan dalam penyewaan mux. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa komersialisasi adalah hal yang tidak terhindarkan dalam penyelenggaraan siaran digital. TVRI secara praktis mengambil manfaat atas penggunaan mux lewat skema penyewaan dan pemasaran yang aktif guna memenuhi target Penerimaan Negara Bukan Pajak. Hal ini problematik mengingat TVRI semestinya memposisikan diri sebgai lembaga publik yang mengedukasi audiens, bukan pasar.</dc:description>

Penelitian ini membahas atensi Gubernur Provinsi Jawa Tengah dan Jawa Barat terhadap mantan narapidana terorisme di tiga situs media online. Metode penelitian menggunakan analisis pembingkaian media Robert M. Entman. Keempat situs media online lebih menyoroti kehadiran dan dukungan Gubernur Provinsi Jawa Tengah terhadap mantan narapidana terorisme dalam kegiatan deradikalisasi, kenegaraan, kemanusiaan, dan pemberdayaan ekonomi. Atensi Gubernur Provinsi Jawa Barat lebih menonjol pada bantuan ekonomi. Bentuk atensi Gubernur Provinsi Jawa Tengah kepada mantan narapidana terorisme lebih beragam daripada Gubernur Provinsi Jawa Barat dalam pemberitaan online tersebut.</dc:description>

	<dc:description xml:lang="en-US">This content analysis delves into the exploration of types and functions of illocutionary acts within a video podcast of Najwa Shihab. For the sake of a comprehensive analysis, rigorous transcription procedures were utilized. The result revealed that there were five illocutionary acts namely: 1) representative (21 items)—conveying information, 2) directive (39 items)—eliciting specific responses, 3) commissive (5 items)—indicating willingness or obligation, 4) expressive (4 items)—showing reactions, and 5) declarative (0 items). Thus, the types and functions of illocutionary acts have the potential to effectively and strategically interact with interlocutors. The study provides insight into managing interaction with students.</dc:description>

	<dc:description xml:lang="en-US">This study aims to map the communication competency research in 2009-2022. This study uses a systematic literature review with the keyword communication competence in the publish or perish application from the Scopus database for 2009-2022. Then, the articles were analyzed using Mendeley and Vosviewer. The results of the analysis found that the 2009-2022 communication competency research tends to be divided into two major groups, namely:  intercultural communication competence and communication competence. In addition, the development of communication competency research moved from  psychology and culture become the health and education. It were influenced by developments in communication and information technology.</dc:description>

	<dc:description xml:lang="en-US">The removal of the mural as a critical message in the Instagram account prompted a critical community @gejayanmemanggil to hold a Lomba Mural Dibungkam. The purpose of this article is to provide a vital explanation of the form of resistance that causes the act of silencing freedom of opinion as well as the disclosure of motives in constructing a message about resistance. The method uses Van Dijk's critical discourse model with text, social cognition, and context dimensions. The results found that the form of resistance was carried out directly, indirectly, and virtually through social media and made the message viral.</dc:description>

	<dc:description xml:lang="en-US">Technological advancements have impacted education, influencing student behavior across different eras—1990s, 2000s, and today. This survey-based research uses conventional sampling techniques and supports the theory of technological determinism, showing how communication technology affects behavior, thought patterns, and social interactions. Face-to-face communication has largely been replaced by online interactions. The study finds that chatting remains a common activity while waiting for lecturers, and highlights a decline in reading habits. Instead, frequent use of mobile phone has become prevalent. The research underscores how technology reshapes both learning environments and student habits.</dc:description>

	<dc:description xml:lang="en-US">Advertisement can be used to campaign on social issues, such as the IKEA’s product campaign on the issue of equality for the LGBT community viewed negatively by the people. This article aims to identify the IKEA attempts to change people's perspective through visual communication. This research uses the theory of structuration and Saussure's semiotic method to interpret signs based on signifiers and signifieds. As a result, the social change represented by IKEA with the theme of equality in American history is a donation communication strategy for the LGBT community, that is vulnerable to suicide, by considering local views and culture.</dc:description>

	<dc:description xml:lang="en-US">This research aims to present a comprehensive bibliometric literature evaluation related to research topics that have relevance to political candidate image building during 2000-2023 and the future research of political candidate image building. Data materials were obtained from Google Scholar by filtering 303 articles from 994 data that were successfully recompiled. Data downloading was carried out on January 10th, 2023. The research method was bibliometric. Data was downloaded through the PoP (Publish or Perish) version 8 application. For future research, topics related to globalization, Twitter, blogs, and rhetoric have opportunities to be developed in contemporary political communication studies.

	<dc:description xml:lang="en-US">Pandemi Covid-19 membuat seluruh dunia, termasuk di Indonesia, mengalami kesulitan yang luar biasa dan telah menciptakan ketidakpastian di tengah masyarakat, sehingga muncul infodemik seperti hoaks, mengganggu kepercayaan pada sumber informasi resmi, kepanikan, dan gangguan penanganan pandemi. Penelitian studi kasus ini berfokus pada Jaringan Pegiat Literasi Digital (Japelidi). Melalui pengumpulan data observasi dan dokumen, diperoleh hasil penelitian yang menunjukkan para pegiat Japelidi yang beragam latar belakang budaya memproduksi poster dalam berbagai bahasa untuk melawan hoaks. Penghargaan terhadap keberagaman budaya berbasis sukarela menjadi kunci Japelidi dalam melawan hoaks. Gerakan ini menunjukkan pentingnya kolaborasi dalam literasi digital.</dc:description>

	<dc:description xml:lang="en-US">Some Indonesian media outlets that produce sex education videos exploit sexuality to attract viewers instead. This research aims to identify the sexual commodification and non-marital sex normalization in &quot;USS Feed–#SEXED&quot;. The research uses van Dijk’s critical discourse analysis. Data collection techniques include documentation, observation, and intertextual literature. The result shows sexploitation is manifested through the objectification of sexuality through female respondents' sexual experiences and the exploitation of erotic fantasies through demonstrations of sex equipment. Meanwhile, the normalization of non-marital sex discourse can be seen in the normalization construction of consent-based sex and safe sex by only using condoms.</dc:description>

	<dc:description xml:lang="en-US">This article explains the democratic culture of civil society of Manggarai on social media based on a case study in the Facebook group Manggarai Bebas Berpendapat. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The result shows that political participation in the group is manifested in the form of information provision, discursive deliberation and contestation, and efforts to influence public policy. Discursive deliberation and contestation appear in the form of user-generated framing wars, symbolic discursive deliberation and contestation, and sentimentality. In general, the democratic culture of Manggarai civil society on social media is dominated by a posttruth democratic culture.</dc:description>

	<dc:description xml:lang="en-US">This research describes the social, economic, and political factors in the digital media ecosystem, which cause the normalization of flexploitation practices among journalists in Yogyakarta. This phenomenological research uses literature study, observation, and in-depth interviews to collect primary data. The findings of this research show that the schemes of news organizations in Yogyakarta are still slow in adapting to the technological revolution, the illusion of increasing flexibility, and the impact of the New Order era. There needs to be government intervention, the Press Council, and collaboration between journalist organizations, labor unions, and educational institutions as mitigation efforts.</dc:description>

	<dc:description xml:lang="en-US">The Mobile Augmented Reality (MAR) application is a marketing innovation that enhances consumer experiences by enabling virtual product trials despite distance and time constraints. This study examines the impact of MAR on purchase intention through perceived enjoyment and usefulness. Data were collected via online questionnaires using purposive and snowball sampling methods and analyzed using SmartPLS. Results indicate that virtual presence and devices influence enjoyment and usefulness directly and indirectly in shaping purchase intentions. Moreover, enjoyment and usefulness are found to have a positive effect on purchase intentions.</dc:description>

	<dc:description xml:lang="en-US">The patriarchal and collective culture necessitates women to marry at a certain age, or else they face various stigmas. Women need strategies to deal with these stigmas. This study aims to uncover the Stigma Management Communication (SMC) among single adult women, including their backgrounds and strategies in dealing with stigma. This research is qualitative research with multiple-case study method. Data was collected through interviews with women over 25 years old who currently have a job. Based on Meisenbach's concept of SMC, the results show that SMC is performed differently, such as ignoring, accepting, or confirming according to their individual situations.</dc:description>

	<dc:description xml:lang="en-US">This article aims to explain one of the Foucauldian discourse methods in studying media phenomena and elaborating communication artifacts or archives, namely archaeology.  The article is based on a literature review that systematically integrates, analyses, and elucidates the presentation of the Foucauldian archaeological method. The archaeological concepts explored include rupture, breaks, discontinuity, threshold, limit, series, mutation, and transformation, all of which highlight the formation of marginal and forgotten discourses (or groups). To achieve this, a multilevel analysis is required at the micro, meso, and macro levels, grounded in concepts and methods that are informed by the historicity of discursive statements.</dc:description>

	<dc:description xml:lang="en-US">Tamanmartani Village in Yogyakarta has great potential to attract foreign tourists, but faces communication barriers. This study identified challenges such as limited information, language barriers, different perceptions of tourism development, as well as difficulties finding local guides and managing social media. Data were collected through observation and interviews with managers, residents, and foreign tourists. Results showed three communication barriers: the manager's limited knowledge of marketing communication, promotional materials for foreign tourists, and the unfamiliarity of foreign tourists with the local culture. Overcoming these barriers is essential to support the sustainable growth of tourism businesses and improve interactions with foreign tourists.</dc:description>

	<dc:description xml:lang="en-US">This article examines the incel phenomenon as a manifestation of radicalism and misogyny within the construction of gender in the digital era. The urgency of this study lies in the growing influence of incel narratives on X, intensifying gender polarization and the potential for gender-based violence. The research employs a qualitative method with a virtual ethnographic approach and content analysis technique. Post and public comments, as data, were collected through the Keyhole application. The findings indicate the algorithms facilitate the radicalization of masculine identity and amplify radical expressions, underscoring the need for intervention through education and responsible social media regulation.</dc:description>

	<dc:description xml:lang="en-US">This study examines the socio-ecological crisis in Wanurejo Village following its transformation into a tourism destination. From a constructivist perspective and using Luhmann’s social system theory, it explores the causes of the crisis and the formation of a Community-Based Tourism (CBT) communication system. Findings reveal that environmental degradation stems from farmers’ vulnerability and tourism complexity. Effective CBT development requires inclusive participation, fair income distribution, and alignment with the Borobudur image. The study concludes that balancing tourism growth with environmental and social justice is essential, and an inclusive communication system can enhance community involvement and reduce the adverse impacts of tourism.</dc:description>

Through the frameworks of Coordinated Management of Meaning (CMM) and Lee’s love typology, the findings show that love is conveyed through implicit symbolism rather than direct declarations. Storge, agape, and pragma are the dominant love styles reflected in the lyrics, emphasizing relational and reflective forms. The study highlights that, love in high-context communication cultures is constructed through narrative and layered meaning coordination. This confirms the significance of symbolic approaches in understanding emotional expression in Indonesian pop music.</dc:description>

	<dc:description xml:lang="en-US">Stunting merupakan permasalahan multisektor dengan dampak jangka panjang hingga usia dewasa, serta berpotensi diturunkan ke generasi berikutnya. Penanggulangan stunting dilakukan melalui intervensi spesifik dan intervensi sensitif. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis peran media sosial yang banyak dimanfaatkan sebagai sarana intervensi sensitif dalam meningkatkan literasi stunting. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner dengan teknik stratified random sampling dan dianalisis menggunakan analisis jalur dengan SPSS AMOS. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan media sosial berpengaruh tidak langsung terhadap literasi stunting pada ibu rumah tangga melalui variabel pengetahuan. Fenomena banjir informasi di media sosial mungkin menyebabkan tidak ditemukannya pengaruh langsung media sosial terhadap literasi stunting</dc:description>

	<dc:description xml:lang="en-US">The spread of hoaxes is one of the challenges of the 2024 elections, as they can disrupt public trust in candidates. This research compares local media policies in countering hoaxes during the 2024 elections. Local media play an important role in democratization, but often it is trapped as a political agent. This research uses in-depth interviews with editorial boards of local media across Java Island. The results show that local media generally lack specific policies to counter hoaxes. The economic challenges faced by local media influence their policy to counter hoaxes for the 2024 elections.</dc:description>

	<dc:description xml:lang="en-US">Abstract: This study examines how Patagonia's &quot;1% for the Planet&quot; campaign utilizes communication narratives to promote sustainability and encourage global green economic growth. By applying Charles Sanders Peirce's semiotics framework icon, index, and symbol the study evaluates how effectively Patagonia communicates environmental conservation and aligns it with consumer behavior and corporate responsibility. A qualitative approach was employed, analyzing visual and textual elements from Patagonia's campaign materials, including advertisements, social media posts, and website content. The study findings show that Patagonia adeptly integrates semiotic elements to craft a compelling sustainability narrative.&amp;nbsp;</dc:description>

	<dc:description xml:lang="en-US">Penelitian ini menelaah pengalaman dan latar belakang sosial budaya penonton era digital dalam meresepsi film adaptasi. Melalui konsep resepsi Livingstone dan Das, peneliti mewawancarai enam informan untuk melihat kecenderungan mereka dalam menerima, kreatif, atau mengkritisi film Dilan 1990 dan Dilan 1991. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa menonton film adaptasi merupakan bagian dari ekstensi (perpanjangan) pengalaman mengonsumsi cerita. Makin rendah ekspektasi dan kedekatan penonton dengan cerita, makin mudah mereka menerima plot. Sebaliknya, ekspektasi dan keterikatan yang tinggi membuat penonton lebih kritis dan kreatif dalam memaknai cerita adaptasi. Penonton memiliki determinisme sosial terhadap media digital, tetapi tidak secara langsung mengubah cara mereka memaknai cerita.</dc:description>

Femicide cases in Indonesian newspapers are reported as ordinary criminal news. The study applied content analysis to Instagram news captions, examining indicators of violations of the Journalistic Code of Ethics and framing using Entman’s theory. Instagram captions serve as previews, directing users to full news links. Findings show that several accounts violated ethical standards by exposing victims and suspects, engaging in victim-blaming, and prioritizing virality. Femicide cases, framed as ordinary crimes, tend to blame victims within a patriarchal system.

	<dc:description xml:lang="en-US">The 2024 direct elections in Indonesia failed to implement the affirmative action policy of 30 percent female representation in politics. This study examines how women are portrayed in campaign advertisements and media coverage. The aim is to identify the representation of female politicians within a socio-historical context. This research uses Ruth Wodak's critical discourse analysis method. Analysis of the 2024 election campaign shows that female politicians are not portrayed as competent figures in politics. This occurs due to several factors that hinder women from being elected as political leaders, including patriarchal culture, religious dogma, and gender bias.</dc:description>
