Abstract

Abstract. During the pandemic, Indonesians' interest in studying abroad remained high. However, due to social restrictions, information about further studies cannot be easily obtained face-to-face but must be through digital technology or the internet. This research is institutional in nature and aims to examine the process of preparing for further study abroad and the study process during a pandemic and post-pandemic by lecturers at Universitas Atma Jaya Yogyakarta. The criteria for the lecturers selected to study the use of information and communication technology (ICT) are based on their experience implementing the ‘tridharma ‘of higher education during a pandemic and how this experience supports the process of further study abroad. This type of research is descriptive quantitative with data collection techniques in the form of surveys with open questions to 12 lecturers who are departing for studies starting in early 2021. Data exploration shows the diversity of study locations according to each lecturer's study program, which are spread across countries in Europe, Asia and America. The two main platforms used to get information with the destination university are the website and email. The information needed is the requirements for doctoral program registration, scholarships and accommodation and facilities. In addition, the communication technology used to communicate with related parties in the destination country varies according to the dominant platform in that country, for example Line, Facebook or WhatsApp. The most important thing is the need to complete the lecturer's knowledge about the university and destination country before departure for a smooth study process.
