Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is 1.5 spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  • If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.

Author Guidelines

Author Guidelines

We accept conceptual articles or research results in the field of law that have not been published in other media, with following requirements:

 

GENERAL REQUIREMENT

  1. The article is written in English.
  2. The word limit for the submission is 5000 - 10000 words (excluding of footnotes and bibliography).
  3. The article is typed in an A4 paper, with top and left margin each 4 cm and bottom and right margin each 3 cm, using Times New Roman font, size 12 and line spacing 1.5.
  4. The systematic structures of the research result shall include: Title, Author’s name, Abstract, Keywords, Research background (with the Research Statements), Research Methods, Research Result and Analysist, Conclusion and References.
  5. The subchapter sections should be written with bold letters. In Every first paragraph of the article shall consist maximum 7 tap/knocks 
  6. If the author or editor consists more than 1 (one) person, mention the name of the first person followed by “et all”.

 

TITLE

Title of the articles is written with Tahoma (14 pt), bold, center, capital, and single space. Title of the article in Bahasa Indonesia and English shall consist 8-15 words. Furthermore, the title of the article should not consist of clauses, articles or regulations yet contain of the substance directly.

 

AUTHOR(S) IDENTITY

Author(s) Name is written with Times New Roman (11 pt), bold, center, and single space. The institution, address, and E-mail is written with Arial (8 pt) center, and single space. The address shall be included the country of institution. If there are more than one authors, the E-mail(s) shall be written on footnote.

 

THE ABSTRACT

The Abstract is written with Times New Roman (11 pt), justify, Italic, and using single space. It should be clear, concise, and descriptive. It should provide a brief introduction to the problem, objective of paper, followed by a statement regarding the methodology and a brief summary of results. The abstract shall consist 100-250 words.

 

THE KEYWORDS

It shall consist of 3-5 words or phrase and arranged by alphabetically. It also separated by a semicolon (;) and not mentioning the name of the institution, rules, or location.

 

  1. Introduction

Introduction is written in 12 pt Times New Roman, 1,5 space, justify, the first line of the paragraph indented 7 knocks space, no need to add before and after space between paragraph. Introduction explaining the actual phenomenon that has been investigated, supported by references. The introduction contains the background of the problem to be studied by showing the gap analysis between das sollen (about the applicable provisions, principles, principles, or doctrines) and das sein (about empirical facts). 

The author also writes state of the art of the research results by comparing 3 previous research studies published in national or international journals. Show the limitations of previous research and the uniqueness of the current research. 

The author must also explain the problems that will be analyzed and discussed. Problems are written in statement sentences, not question sentences. Furthermore, these also show the urgency and purpose of the research to be carried out. 

The Author is not allowed to write subchapters in research background. This paper must be supported with references- at least a minimum of 15 references with 80% of them being journals. References may include books, journals, research result/ thesis, article in an anthology with an editor, megazine or newspaper article, internet, or law and regulations. References are cited using the footnote model using Mendeley Citation software with the Chicago Manual of Style 17th edition (fullnote, with ibid) format.

 

  1. The Research Methods

The Research Methods title written with Times New Roman, 12, Bold. It should be written in descriptive and only used by the author who write the article based upon research result. Methods are written descriptively and should provide a statement regarding the research methodology. The method at least contains the approach, research specifications, data collection techniques, and data analysis methods. Both Research and Article should explain the method.

 

  1. The Research Result And Analysist or Discussion

Discussion is written in Times New Roman 12, 1,5 space, justify, first paragraph indented 7 knocks space, no need to add before and after space between paragraphs. The discussion consists of legal analysis about the research problems. It is highly recommended that the Author provides appropriate concepts about the problems. Authors could write discussion in sub-chapters to make it easier for readers understand essential concepts. The sub chapter must be written in bold style 12 pt Times New Roman, and Arabic numbering. The author should avoid chapter under sub chapter. If there are any, please do not put more than 2 chapters under the sub-chapter.

  1. Main Heading of the First Analysis or Discussion (optional)

This section is the most important section of your article. The analysis or results of the research should be clear and concise. The results should summarize (scientific) findings rather than provide data in great detail. Please highlight differences between your results or findings and the previous publications by other researchers.

  1. Sub-heading of the discussion

The separation between main headings, sub-headings and sub-sub-headings should be numbered in the manuscript with following example:

  • Sub-sub heading
  • Sub-sub heading
  1. Sub-heading of the discussion
  2. Sub-heading of the discussion
  3. Main Heading of the Second Analysis or Discussion (optional)

Tables and Figures are presented in the center and cited in the manuscript. The figures should be clearly readable and have a resolution of at least 300 DPI (Dots Per Inch) for good printing quality. Table made with the open model (without the vertical lines) as shown below:

The table or picture should be analyzed when author insert a table or picture in the research result and analysis.

 

  1. The Conclusion

Conclusion is written in 12 pt Times New Roman, 1,5 space, justify, first line on the paragraph indented 7 knocks space, no need to add before and after space between paragraphs. The conclusion consists of a brief answer of the research problems. Do not repeat the Abstract or describe the results of the research.

 

REFERENCES 

This reference part should be written in Times New Roman letters, font 12, and single space, justify. These references are automatically written using Mendeley software. It should be written alphabetically, with the author’s family name on the front. It should contains minimum 15 references (80% journals) published in the last 10 years. The writing style shall be as follows:

Books

<author’s name>, <title>, <place of publication:> <publisher>, <year of publication>.

Example:

Law and Regulations as a Reference

Nomenclature of the law and regulation along with its number, year and title. For the reference, the arrangement is based on the sequence of the laws and regulations.

Example:

Indonesia, Central Government. Law No. 7 of 2017 regarding General Election (2017).

 

THE FOOTNOTE

This part of reference of the articles should be written with Times New Roman, font 10 and single space format. For example:
