Abstract

This research aims to explore the process of social exchange between a company and students that occurs in internship activities. This research uses the concepts of working programs and social exchange. This research uses descriptive qualitative research methods. Primary data in this research was obtained through interviews with informants who were directly involved, supported by secondary data related to the topic being researched. Based on the findings and data analysis, it can be argued that the social exchange between the company and the students is mutually beneficial, where both parties make sacrifices and obtain rewards and benefits. The students make sacrifices in the form of energy and time, while the company makes sacrifices in terms of knowledge and information. The students get rewards in the form of knowledge and information, while the company gets rewards in the form of social media promotional content, customer service, and marketplace account management. The students receive benefits in the form of knowledge in doing business through social media and marketplaces as well as experience in professional work, while the company receives benefits related to promotional content and consumer attention.
