Level of Awareness of the Impact of Fast Fashion among PERMATA GBKP Depok Members, Lenteng Agung

The fast fashion industry has experienced rapid growth in recent years by offering affordable clothing products that quickly follow trends and are easily accessible to various groups in society. This phenomenon has made fast fashion increasingly popular, especially among young people who tend to be more consumptive towards fashion trends. However, behind this convenience and speed of production, the fast fashion industry has significant negative impacts on the environment, such as the increase of textile waste, excessive water usage, and high carbon emissions generated during production and distribution processes. This situation raises the urgency to assess the level of individual awareness, particularly among the younger generation, regarding the impacts caused by fast fashion. This study aims to determine the level of awareness of the impacts of fast fashion among members of PERMATA GBKP Depok, Lenteng Agung by using a descriptive quantitative analysis method. The results shows that the respondents’ knowledge level of the impacts of fast fashion falls into the “moderate” category, while their attitudes and actions are classified as “high.” Therefore, it can be concluded that overall, the level of awareness of the impacts of fast fashion among members of PERMATA GBKP Depok, Lenteng Agung is in the “moderate” category.
