Analisis terhadap Kritik Sosial melalui Karya Seni Mural Komunitas Solo is Solo Collective Muralis

This study aims to analyze and describe how members of the Solo is Solo Collective Muralist Community transform public issues into social criticism through murals in the city of Surakarta. This research uses qualitative explanatory approach, observation, interviews, and documentation data collecting techniques. Informants were selected using the snowball sampling technique. This study applies Shadliy's concept of social criticism and Jurgen Habermas's public sphere concept. The findings indicate that members of the Solo is Solo Collective Muralist Community follow several processes to turn public issues into social criticism in murals. The main process includes research and discussion on topics highlighted in mural works. These processes involve researching public current problems in society, conducting open discussions, selecting public matters to be represented as social criticism in murals, selecting the mural location, and creating murals with social criticism.
