Analysis of Local Leadership Styles in the Management of the Kebonsari Tourism Village Through the Tourism, Business, and Cultural Sectors

Abstract

The development of community-based tourism villages places local leadership as a key factor in encouraging community participation and ensuring sustainable rural development. This study aims to analyze the leadership style of the Head of BUMDes in managing Kampung Pring Kebonsari Tourism Village through the tourism, business, and cultural sectors. The theoretical framework is based on the concept of local leadership emphasizing influence, participation, communication, and change. This research employs a qualitative approach with a case study strategy. Data were collected through observation, interviews, Focus Group Discussions (FGD), and documentation, and analyzed inductively. The findings indicate that leadership in Kampung Pring Kebonsari is collective and contextual. BUMDes leadership in the tourism and business sectors tends to be initiative-oriented and directive, while leadership in the cultural sector is more supportive and participatory, led by the village government. In conclusion, this combination of leadership styles plays an important role in strengthening community participation and supporting the sustainability of bamboo-based tourism village development.
