Title: Livability Space Study On Commercial Corridors, Case Study: Urip Sumoharjo Road in Yogyakarta City
Abstract: Public space is a container that can fulfill the activities of its users to interact. The public space in the Urip Sumoharjo corridor is not what it should be. This corridor has a very complex function and is mixed with economic activities, limiting its movement and visibility. The concept of Livability Space is considered to solve problems with the concept of a friendly and appropriate shared space in terms of activity, accessibility, security, and environmental quality. This research can be a design direction for the physical setting configuration of Commercial Corridor roads for pedestrians using the Livability Space approach. This study uses a qualitative rationalistic framework, focusing on individual perceptions of Livability Space which is expected to increase user comfort and safety for activities.
