Abstract

Urban coastal areas face environmental pressures due to rising sea levels, coastal erosion, and tidal flooding. Known as an area with a high susceptibility to climate threats in Semarang, the Tambakrejo fishing community in the Village of Tanjungmas requires initiatives that can leverage its livelihood assets to better cope with disaster impacts. In this effort, this study aims to identify and examine community assets that support the livelihoods, hence, the resilience of the Tambakrejo community to unexpected changes. Methods utilized to attain this include field observations, unstructured interviews, walking interviews, and literature reviews. The findings indicate diverse typologies of community assets that fall within three categories: social, natural, and built assets, where mangrove conservation plays a pivotal role in shaping the community resilience. Using these findings, the study developed a design framework for the future planning of edu marine tourism in Tambakrejo.
