Abstract

The use of generative artificial intelligence (AI) can assist business owners in creating promotional content more easily and efficiently. However, limited knowledge and skills regarding AI usage remain a challenge for some. This community service activity aimed to enhance participants' competence in utilizing AI to create digital promotional content tailored to their business characteristics. The program was conducted through presentations, reflection, hands-on practice, discussions, and mentoring for 20 participants. Evaluation employed a single-group design with pre- and post-tests using a 1–5 Likert scale covering 14 indicators. Data were analyzed descriptively and through normalized gain (N-Gain). Results showed an increase in AI knowledge and understanding from 1.98 to 3.47, and in content creation skills from 1.76 to 3.22. A total of 85% of participants experienced score improvements, with an average N-Gain of 0.39, falling into the medium category. Attitudes and self-confidence showed only slight improvement, as participants' initial scores were already relatively high. While the training successfully strengthened participants' competence in AI-assisted promotional content creation, ongoing mentoring remains necessary to enhance the quality and ethical standards of its use.
