Authorship Criteria
Authorship of an article published in IJIS must be limited to those who have made a significant intellectual contribution to the work. To be listed as an author, an individual must meet all of the following criteria:
- Substantial contributions to the conception or design of the study, or to the acquisition, analysis, or interpretation of data;
- Drafting the manuscript or revising it critically for important intellectual content;
- Final approval of the version to be published; and
- Agreement to be accountable for all aspects of the work, ensuring that questions related to its accuracy or integrity are appropriately investigated and resolved.
Individuals who have contributed to the work but do not meet these criteria, such as those who provided technical assistance, general supervision, or funding, should be named in the Acknowledgments section. A corresponding author must be designated to handle all communication with the journal on behalf of all co-authors.
All authors must approve the order of authorship and the final manuscript before submission. Changes to the authorship list (addition, removal, or reordering of authors) after submission require a written request signed by all authors, stating the reasons for the change, and are subject to approval by the editors. Honorary, guest, and ghost authorship are considered breaches of publication ethics. Authors are encouraged to describe each author's contribution using the CRediT (Contributor Roles Taxonomy) statement.
