Plagiarism Policy
IJIS does not tolerate plagiarism in any form. Plagiarism is defined as the use of another person's ideas, data, words, figures, or other materials without appropriate acknowledgment. This includes verbatim copying, close paraphrasing without citation, and self-plagiarism, that is, the reuse of one's own previously published work without proper citation and disclosure.
All submitted manuscripts are screened using plagiarism detection software before they proceed to review. As a general guideline, manuscripts with an overall similarity index above 20%, or with substantial overlap with a single source, will be returned to the authors for revision or rejected. Similarity found in the reference list, standard terminology, and properly quoted passages is evaluated in context.
If plagiarism is detected in a submitted manuscript, the manuscript will be rejected and the authors may be barred from submitting to the journal for a period determined by the editorial board. If plagiarism is discovered after publication, the article will be handled in accordance with the Corrections and Retractions policy, and the authors' institution may be notified.
