Publication Ethics
IJIS is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and follows the guidelines and best practices issued by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). All parties involved in the publication process — authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher — are expected to adhere to the following principles.
Duties of authors. Authors must present original work, report their findings honestly and accurately, and provide sufficient detail for the work to be reproduced. They must cite all sources appropriately, ensure that all listed authors have made a substantial contribution, and must not submit the same manuscript to more than one journal at the same time. Authors must disclose any financial or other relationships that could be perceived as influencing their work, and must promptly notify the editors of any significant error discovered in their published work.
Duties of editors. Editors evaluate manuscripts solely on their academic merit, without regard to the authors' gender, ethnicity, nationality, religion, political views, or institutional affiliation. They must preserve the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts, avoid conflicts of interest, and act promptly when ethical concerns are raised.
Duties of reviewers. Reviewers must provide objective, constructive, and timely assessments, maintain confidentiality, identify relevant uncited work, and decline to review manuscripts for which they have a conflict of interest.
Duties of the publisher. The publisher supports the editorial independence of the journal, provides the resources necessary for its operation, and ensures that the journal's content is preserved and made accessible.
